Playmates

feb26wseth

It is always a welcome change to have company especially for an only child.

K and Seth had a great time at Fidgets this morning. Although they did not really spend alot of time playing together (since the both of them are still in the parallel play stage), I could tell from K’s responses and behaviour that he really enjoyed Seth’s company.

I think it is wonderful that K has found a playmate of the same age and interests (they are both extremely fond of the garbage truck). And Seth just lives a few floors below our apartment.

As for K’s other interests, he is getting quite good with his plastic golf clubs. Dh can’t wait to buy him a set of real clubs, and start K’s initiation into the ‘I hope I can play golf like Tiger Woods’ club.

  1. Wow, K is really good at sports, it was ping pong, then this golf, I can see that he has potentials. :)

  2. I believe every child has something that they will really enjoy, and will keep him motivated and happy. So I guess it is my role to encourage this interest.
Not to a point of hot-housing though, will just let him progress naturally.

  3. I can really see a TIGER in HIM!!! amazing!

  4. I’m completely impressed by the little guy!!!! He is not even 2year old and he could hit it at first go! Amazing!

  5. Hi Rachel,

1st time to your blog :-) Thks for the comments you left at mine, it led me to your site! You take nice pictures and your boy is quite advanced in his development- considering he hasn’t even reached 2!

  6. Kayu Tiger in da making! :).. rachel, i’ve got a tag for u.. http://submerryn.blogspot.com/2009/03/6-and-6-photo-meme.html

  7. 4malmal, Angeline, Nic – I am a strong believer of the multiple intelligence theory by Howard Gardner, and I believe that every child has got their strengths in a few intelligences. I guess K has a certain level of Bodily-Kinesthetic intelligence, which gives me a perspective on how he will be able to learn most effectively.

Merryn – Thanks for your tag.

How would you rate Fidget? Are there sufficient activities to engage kids below 2? :-)

  9. Ermin – Fidgets is lousy for a kid below 3 years old. The play area for toddlers is pathetic, and kids end up fighting for the cars in the vehicle play area. Not worth paying a visit. I think Rae-ann will have more fun at Botanic Gardens. Btw, K and I have started going to the Jacob Ballas garden once a week, u want to join us?

Thanks for confirmation…had a nagging suspicion after viewing the website…we had a disappointing time at the one over at Dempsey. Yes, JB sounds great… have been wanting to go! In case you haven’t heard, have been maidless for more than a month and settling down to new routines…so let me know when you are going and if Rae-ann is recovered from flu, we’ll join you guys! :-)
