The best thing about our holiday?

12 days is just about the maximum number of days we can stay in Sydney (without getting sick of the place or getting broke first after eating out so much).

It’s a wonderful cosmopolitan place, with lots to see and do, even for kids. However, most things are just too expensive. Shopping is about 30-40% more costly than Singapore (unless you limit your shopping from only Target, K-mart or thrift shops) and eating out is pricey. Besides there is hardly any service to talk about. Shopping is only fun when it comes to fresh produce, like meat, seafood, fruit and vegetables, however try not to even consider imported produce. I still find it extremely ridiculous that ginger (obviously not grown in Australia) costs like AUD$50 per kg!

Apart from little peeves like the above, it is still a nice place to go for a family vacation. The region offers a vast variety of nature and wildlife attractions, extremely apt for children who love nature and animals.

For K, there is one memorable thing that he remembers fondly from our trip…

That was a long trip to Sydney! I stayed for 2 days and mainly walked around the city centre till my legs went all stiff. It is expensive! Wishing i had bought the ugg boots but just as well. Won't be wearing it in the hot weather here! I like the part where kyle stood in front of the little kangaroo and then went to stroke its tail. Was a bit scared also, thinking maybe the kangaroo might whip around and start boxing him! Kyle's looking very prosperous there days!

  3. Sarah – Such a short trip to Sydney? Should have stayed longer, there is quite a bit to see in Sydney.

Haha…Kyle has little fear for animals that I had to remind him not to pull the kangeroo's tail :) He has in fact lost some weight since he stopped drinking milk from the bottle. But it's a good thing, cos he is getting too heavy nowadays!

  4. the little prince – Hopefully u can make a trip there…do check out all the kid's places + wildlife attractions if u r there, I am sure Kyle will love them.

K was so thrilled to see the kangeroo, he started asking to see it since the first day we arrived there…
